- Be for-profit with fewer than 800 employees

- Have an internal champion and owner supporting the initiative
Funding breakdown
- Phase 1, Assessment (75% covered): up to $37,500. Delivers a roadmap for data, AI, and cybersecurity improvements.
- Phase 2, Implementation (75% covered): up to $20,390. Delivers execution of approved recommendations.
- Total potential support: $57,890.
Qualifying projects
Projects must strengthen digital capabilities in data, AI, or cybersecurity and follow the two-phase structure.
Assessment phase
- Data assessment: review current infrastructure, find optimization opportunities, and craft a data strategy.
- Cybersecurity risk assessment: identify threats, rank risks, and outline remediation steps.
- AI use-case & readiness assessment: pinpoint high-value AI opportunities and gauge readiness for deployment.
Implementation phase
- Develop a new SOW to put assessment recommendations into action.
- Focus areas: data management, AI solutions, or cybersecurity controls.
- Projects must align with the assessment phase findings.
